The Aprilia plant
Angelini Fine Chemicals is the business unit of Angelini Pharma. It develops and manufactures small molecules for Angelini brands and provides contract development and manufacturing services to leading pharmaceutical multinationals and biotech companies.
Located near Aprilia, south of Rome, with a 70,000 m2 state-of-the-art cGMP manufacturing facility and R&D labs, Angelini Fine Chemicals is at the forefront in the development and manufacture of custom small-molecules, advanced intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients. It helps pharmaceutical companies to develop drugs with scales from the kilogram to several tons.
Recently, Angelini Fine Chemicals has implemented a new area of its plant with the aim of expanding its HPAPI R&D and manufacturing capacity, strengthening its portfolio for CDMO services for its current and future customers.
The plant is inspected and approved by the Italian AIFA (Agenzia Italiana del Farmaco), the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and the PMDA (Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Agency) and is cGMP and ISO certified. Its annual production capacity is 140,000 litres.
The company uses a wide range of synthetic technologies to resolve complex chemical and scale-up issues, a “doing chemistry” approach that is much appreciated in the international pharmaceutical outsourcing market.
